![]() Also by some larger details - Computer programming never worked like that (right?)! Men and women don't work like that!Īlso jolting: there are many offensive things in this book! There are several villains. Egg cartons don't work like that! Eight-year-olds don't work like that! The moon doesn't work like that! etc. I kept being jolted out of the story by little details I couldn't believe. But I knew I couldn't, because if I did, I'd never find out what happened next! And then I got into it and couldn't put it down. For the first 50 pages or so I was constantly about to put it down for good. It's hard to decide how to rate this book. I will continue to look for more Steven Barnes books. Sometimes the situation got so intense I had to go out and walk the dog, just take a break! That really doesn't happen very often these days in my reading. They make two very unlikely allies and they're up against an evil that goes back to slavery days.įour stars, perhaps 4.5, as I really liked the characters and the story. Derek is trying to protect his family from the same predator. Tucker is a man out for revenge against the person or persons who had his family slaughtered. The black guy, Derek, is the nerd, a computer hacker who was known as Captain Africa. Heck, he'd give the Terminator a run for his money. The white guy, Tucker, was a highly-trained Green Beret, a real tough guy who could take on Jack Reacher, T'Challa, and Conan the Cimmerian all together. The Blood Brothers of the title are a white guy and a black guy who team-up to fight an evil predator with seemingly unlimited powers. It's set in the early 90s when computers were more primitive and people had to look for public phones to make a call. It definitely is a "page-turner," a thriller but also an effective horror novel, which reminded me of Dean Koontz. Finally, I've gotten another book by Barnes-"Blood Brothers" published in 1996. Living in a normal world where what only worth living is having a job, getting salary and buying stuffs you’d want to have but apart from watching anime, it takes you to a world of your own.I read a book titled "The Kundalini Equation" by Steven Barnes years ago and found it to be a most interesting read. Whether they exist or not, nothing is impossible. Whether they only see humans as mere food, I really do believe there’s more to the story. I definitely recommend Black Blood Brothers as I am fond of Vampires. ( I have been searching for as I first watched it when I was a kid) Most anime would leave you sad and lonely for weeks after watching but BBB will live forever close to your heart and soul. Not all of it as this never got a second season but you can read the manga somewhere and go into it more. It is cleared how they explain everything into answering your questions from the beginning. Plot twists keeps developing as you go deeper into the series. The plot itself gives you chills down to your spine unlike others that would turn into a thrilling to boring anime because of the plot issues. It is not to my liking but I really do feel the sorrow of BBB. It’s given that it would be a broken hearted love story of two vampires that cant be together. Long story, Ill let you watch the anime to understand more.) (She’s the Vampire that turned Jirou into a vampire. Most people would be attracted to cute and funny little ones just like Kotarou- Jirou’s brother and the reincarnation of Sage Alice Eve. For the MC Mimiko, yeah, she’s fine, just like other Anime girl leads, they are energetic and caring. He can be funny, cool and a gentleman as he was alive for hundreds of years and is accustomed to traditions. Take for example the main protagonist, Jirou- the Silver Sword vampire. It’s short on its own but it can suffice. The personalities and the way they develop are one of a kind just like super recommended animes out there. I did not feel a single thing wanting them off of the series. )Ĭharacters of BBB are amazing to its extent.Note thyself: If you hate spoilers, I suggest you click off from the blog and leave a like Along the way, he meets a human girl named Mimiko. ![]() Kotaro's abduction, by one of the Kowloon Children, thrusts him even further into the battle. As they travel to The Special Zone, Jiro encounters enemies from the past and new threats that may endanger the safety of the Special Zone including the citizens. They soon realize that a plan to infiltrate the Special Zone is being hatched by the Kowloon Children survivors. Ten years later, Jiro heads to Hong Kong with his younger brother, Kotaro Mochizuki, in hopes of reaching The Special Zone, a thriving secret city where Vampires live-(which is separate from the human civilized parts of the city). the Silver Blade (Gintō), fought and defeated the Kowloon king and most of the Kowloon Children. During a war called the Hong Kong Crusade, an Old Blood vampire, Jiro Mochizuki, a.k.a.
